Have a great Summer
Posted on 18/06/2010 by Robby Boey

Due to the fact that a lot of our players are still doing their exams, and others have other obligations this weekend, we've decided to cancel this Sunday's LotR tournament.
The next tournament will be in September, so have a great Summer, enjoy the vacation and see you soon!

Fiercetcg.com on Facebook

Well, it had to happen someday: we're now also on Facebook :)
That's right, fiercetcg.com has created a Facebook group, which will allow you to have an even faster access to all the news, events and much more related to the LotR TCG in Belgium.  Will this mean the site will stop?  No, most certainly not!  All the posts will be put on the site, and then immediately "cross-posted" to the Facebook group (since that's where most of us hang out anyway) so you get the update in two places.  The site furthermore will house all the resources, schedules, documents etc. that are needed for the game.  The Facebook group will house discussions etc. and notify you of changes in the calendar.  So what are you waiting for?  Join the Facebook group now!

Robby takes the title
Posted on 22/02/2010 by Robby Boey

In an exciting finale to the Belgian Championship, in which we could welcome some long lost friends back to the game (it was great seeting you again Luc!), it was yours truly that managed to clinch the title with an Hobbit-Isengard Uruk deck.  The deck only lost to Johan's build of Faramir and Aragorn paired with Forest Nazguls.  The other decks (Shone's Hobbit-Sauron Orcs and Luc's Elven-Forest Nazgul) put up a great fight, but cards like Greed and some fierce Uruks proved to be too much.  The key card however in the winning deck of the tournament was "Prized Lagan", which effectively removed the Fierce-keyword from any minion the Fellowship faced.

Lord of the Rings TCG Belgian Championship part 3
Posted on 07/02/2010 by Robby Boey

Due to the fact that not all players could make it last month (exams etc), we've decided to postpone the Belgian Championship till Sunday, February 21st (and this time, we hope everyone can make it!).
At the same time, we've decided to change the format for the championship from Standard to Austrian Format.  This is an exciting format, allowing you to tap into almost your entire collection of cards to make a deck.  Sounds fun and it is fun!  For more information on Austrian format, click here.
See you at the Outpost Gamecenter!

Who wants to go to Amsterdam... for LotR!
Posted on 18/01/2010 by Robby Boey

On February 28th, there's a LotR event in the Netherlands, location Zwolle.  Now, that is not really a nice drive from Antwerp (yes, it's in the north of the country) so perhaps we'll have to skip that one, but on May 1st, there's another LotR event in Amsterdam (and that's only a 1,5 - 2 hours drive).
We all know the Dutch players are some of the best out there (remember the several TOCs, PSQs we had where always the 1st place went to someone from the land of cheese and windmills), but many of them have quit the game or had some time off :).  Nevertheless, it would be a great opportunity to play against some other players and perhaps meet some old friends.
All who want to join, drop me an e-mail at tournaments@fiercetcg.com.

Lord of the Rings TCG Belgian Championships part 2
Posted on 12/01/2010 by Robby Boey

Get you best Standard Constructed deck out, because this Sunday, 17/1, we're playing part 2 of the Belgian Nationals.  The first part, which was the BK draft was held already back in November, but due to bad weatherconditions, players having exams etc. we had to postpone part 2 to this Sunday.
Part one was won by Wim, who remained undefeated in all his games. Tania came in second, with Johan and Shone on equal score, but a better SoS.  Robby, defending draft champion, came in last this year.
So... this Sunday, we'll know who will be the new Belgian LotR Champion Standard Format, to have his or her name engraved on "the cup" next to Wim's as the Belgian LotR Champion Draft.
See you all at the Outpost Antwerp, at 11h30!

Lord of the Rings TCG Belgian Championships this weekend in Antwerp!
Posted on 14/11/2009 by Robby Boey

It's that time of the year again, when the best LotR players in Belgium pick up their competition decks and gather at the Outpost Gamecenter in Antwerp to compete in the Belgian Championships.  Just like last year, we'll have two titles as there will be two tournaments (a Standard Constructed and a Draft tournament).  It's all free, no entry fee, so what are you waiting for and head over to the Outpost Gamecenter in Antwerp this Sunday, November 15th at 11h30 and start playing!
In need of some updates or a reminder of the rules?  Check out the following files that will bring the rules, updates etc. back to mind:

See you at the Nationals!

Lord of the Rings TCG tournaments to start again in Antwerp!
Posted on 24/08/2009 by Robby Boey

It's been almost a year since the last posting on the site.  In the meantime, we've heared about the confirmation of the Hobit-movies, we've all seen the great new Star-Trek movie and rushed to the moviestores to buy season 4 of Battlestar Galactica... and in the meantime, our good ol' LotR-decks have been sitting in a drawer somewhere, collecting dust.  Still the LotR TCG is popular.  Collectors all over the world are trying to get their hands on the Legends Masterworks cards from the "Rise of Saruman" and "Treachery & Deceit" sets.  It's rumoured that effectively these sets are the hardes to find of any TCG out there, "dead" or not.
Also, players are still getting ideas for new decks (there are 1000's of cards to choose from!) and we too, after a long period of inactivity, want to get back to the table and play LotR!
On the "Tournaments" page, we've listed the tournament schedule for this year and 2010.  First big event will be the Belgian Championships in November, so dust off your decks and if you're unsure on how things were again, then check out the following files that will bring the rules, updates etc. back to mind:

Now, what are you waiting for?  Get deckbuilding and see you soon!

Forced March and Smeagol, Old Noser win Belgian titles!
Posted on 29/11/2008 by Robby Boey

This Saturday saw again Belgian's finest LotR players meet up to determine the new Belgian Champion.  This time, we had not just one title up for grabs, but 2, as it was both the Constructed Championship and the Draft Championship.
In the Constructed tournament, Shone's Elven-Archery Troll deck proved to be too much for the other players.  Whilst his elves kept the opponent's shadow in check, his shadow made sure it had sufficient stopping power and a timely Forced March on a sanctuary in all of his games meant an instant kill on the next site.  No surprises then, that this card again proves its worth as a key card in bringing Shone his first ever Belgian title.
Next up was the Draft tournament.  The draft was made up of a Tower draft-pack and a Reflections booster as base packs for the players, complemented by a Battle of Helm's Deep, 2x Black Rider and 2x Siege of Gondor booster packs.  Johan drew a fantastic Reflections booster, a "golden" pack, as all the cards were Foils (including a cool foil Isildur's Bane!).
The key card in this tournament proved to be good old Smeagol, as the "Old Noser" was key in allowing Robby to safely make the critical double in his games.  It has to be said, that some nice draws such as Shelob + Web, a complete Dunland army (yes, including Freca) and a nice fellowship of unkillable Wraiths (with the needed support cards) and a fully loaded Gandalf surely helped.  All this lead to Robby taking the Belgian draft title.
So, in conclusion, a fun afternoon, with not 1 but 2 new champions!
See you all in December for the X-Mas LotR event!

Come back to the game you love!
Posted on 15/10/2008 by Robby Boey

Time goes by so fast... it's already October and convention season is upon us, with the first of the big venues: Spiel in Essen, Germany.  But I am not here to talk about the conventions, I am here to make a statement: Come back to the game you love!  That's right, it's been too long that we've played with our trusty old LotR-decks, so let's pick up where we left of, some time ago in May, and let's meet up again at the Outpost in Antwerp, in a new Fierce tournament!  I don't know about you, but by browsing through some of the old gaming forums, I've seen posts of people, thinking back fondly of the good times they had when playing LotR and of the many friendships that were forged at the gaming table.  I too remember the good old days of the big tournaments, like TOC's, PSQ's etc. but also the great gaming nights we had each week on Friday, with the fun "Race to Mount Doom" competition.  So where have all the old players gone?  Some I still see from time to time, playing other games, or sometimes bump in to them by accident, hearing then that they've left the gaming scene completely.  However, it's good to hear that some players are still out there, waiting to pick up their decks and have a great afternoon with friends, playing the game we all love.
So what are you waiting for?  Come back to the game you love, and we'll see each other this Sunday, at the Outpost at 11h00 for some Standard Constructed and furious drafting fun!
And to make sure the message is out there, just type in www.comebacktothegameyoulove.com in your browser ;)

Reminder: Tournament schedule for 2008
Posted on 15/03/2008 by Robby Boey

Just a quick reminder that the tournament schedule for 2008 is online.  As usual, all the tournaments will take place on the 3rd Sunday of the month and the formats range from block formats to special formats such as Highlander etc., so you'll be able to show your deckbuilding skills in all of the possible LotR TCG formats.  We've listed a healthy dose of Standard format as well, along with some fun Open Format Drafts.
Don't forget that this sunday, we'll have the first Order of the Istari event of the year, being a Highlander and Poor Man's LotR format (only C's and U's).  All cars are allowed as the format are "Open".
